Past results of U16:

As some of you may know, All Out’s U16 team has really been stirring the pot these last two tournaments.  Congratulations to all of you.  Since then, the girls have been getting some attention and here is just one of the responses to a reporter from coach Jeff Fransen...

Regarding the Oregon MLK Tournament:

All Out started in 2006 with a U12 team and a U14 team.  Foundationally, it was started to give kids an opportunity to learn and play volleyball, using solid principles of coaching, in a positive Christian atmosphere.  I guess All-Out is not a particularly big or well known club... being a large club has never been the goal, however.  Since inception, the focus has been on high-caliber coaching and the overall quality of the experience.  We want to be a part of developing these young athletes not just as volleyball players, but as whole people.  As far as my U-16 team, this is our second year together.

In terms of our experience this past weekend... I’m not sure I could tell you why we started as the 28th seed, or where we should have been seeded, but entering the tournament we weren’t much concerned about it either.  There were a lot of good teams in Eugene and we were looking forward to the prospect of competing no matter who was on the other side of the net.  We had a great time. If we surprised people as we rose through the ranks to the gold finals, I guess it is understandable since All-Out is a small club and not well known.  I can't say that we expected to be in the finals, but I can say we were not surprised either... we know we have a talented group of girls who love to compete and find a way to win.

Essentially, like every other team there, we played great at times, living up to our potential and not-so-great in other instances.   Consistently, however, I think our team rose to the challenge.  I asked our girls to focus on our side of the net... to play for each other, not for themselves, not for the coaches, but for each other... and let the outcomes take care of themselves... I think they did that.  These girls are talented volleyball players that play with heart.  They take the All-Out name seriously and compete that way.
